04
NIOS examination fees are paid separately
NIOS admission fees do not automatically cover a future public examination. Eligible learners must register for the examination and pay the examination fee during a separately notified window. The current official rate schedule lists Rs 300 per subject for a public examination and an additional Rs 150 for each subject with a practical component.
- Admission payment creates or continues the learner's admission record.
- Examination payment is made later for the subjects the learner is eligible to appear in.
- NIOS publishes a separate examination-fee schedule, including any late-fee dates.
- As of 24 October 2026, the October-November 2027 examination-fee window has not been published.
05

- Accepted proof of date of birth for Secondary admission
- Class 10 certificate or marksheet for Senior Secondary admission

A tutor can help with learning and preparation, but cannot replace official NIOS registration or assessment requirements.
- Download the current syllabus and official study material for every selected subject.
- Record assignment, practical and examination milestones in one calendar.
- Identify subjects where the learner needs explanation, practice or accountability.
- When requesting a tutor, state the NIOS level, subject, target exam session and preferred teaching mode.
